Renowned opposition leader and four-time Ugandan presidential candidate, Dr. Col. Kizza Besigye, has been reported missing.
According to sources close to him, Besigye was last seen three days ago when he left his residence in Kasangati, Wakiso District, reportedly heading to Kampala to visit a patient in one of the city’s hospitals.
Conflicting accounts have since emerged regarding his whereabouts. One source claims Besigye was scheduled to travel to Kenya with an unidentified companion. However, both individuals remain untraceable, and it is unclear whether they ever reached their destination.
Another insider, who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter, revealed that inquiries are underway with authorities in the United Kingdom and the United States to determine whether Besigye might have traveled to either country.
“We are still investigating his location and deliberating on the next course of action,” the source disclosed.
Dr. Besigye’s unexplained disappearance has raised concerns across the political spectrum, with his supporters anxiously awaiting updates on his safety.
