According to Ms Seku, out of the total number of trainees,1005 were boys and 1096 girls.

The President Museveni’s Private Secretary on Youth Affairs Seku, known for her tireless efforts in promoting patriotism among Uganda’s youth encouraged the students to cherish the core values of patriotism, make informed decisions, and maintain good relationships with their parents. She also stressed the importance of avoiding harmful influences and staying safe, particularly in the face of rising HIV/AIDS cases among young people.

“The recent report indicates that over 4,000 youth contract HIV every seven days. I urge you to abstain until the right time,” Ms Seku cautioned.

President Museveni’s national strategic initiative, Patriotism, aims to instill good norms and values in Uganda’s youth so as to love one another , their country and not forgetting protection of the environment.

Ms Seku’s efforts align with this vision, empowering young people to become ambassadors of change in their communities.

Having assumed the helm of the Patriotism Secretariat in January 2024, Commissioner Seku has made significant strides in promoting patriotism, previously passing out over 7,000 patriots at Old Kampala SS and thousands of others in different regions across the country.

The Mubende pass-out ceremony however marked a new beginning for the young patriots who were equipped with skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in their communities by a team of competent facilitators, majority of whom are attached to the NSPC Office of the President.

With Ms Seku’s guidance, the youth who have now gone back to school for their third term holidays are expected to drive meaningful change in their communities using the knowledge acquired and build a brighter future.
