Cracks in NUP as Bobi Wine is condemned for sacking Mpuuga!

Analysts and leaders have blamed the NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi for dropping the former Leader of Opposition in Parliament Mathias Mpuuga and replacing him with Joel Ssenyonyi.

Jude Muleke the Pokino (Kabaka’s representative) for Buddu which covers the greater Masaka in his communication to the congregation gathered at Masaka cathedral during Christmas prayers condemned Kyagulanyi for sacking a value based leader like Mathias Mpuuga. Pokino said that it was unfortunate that NUP was choosing to punish Mpuuga for being such a good leader which he said was unusual and unexpected.

Samuel Mukaaku Lubega one of the founders of People Power Movement and NUP is another leader who strongly condemned Bobi Wine for this decision, “Mpuuga represents Buganda, he represents the Catholic Church, he represents the Anglicans, he represents diplomacy and he represents leadership, how do you drop such a leader?” Mukaaku said while appearing on the popular Barometer talk show on NBS TV.

Sources say that Mpuuga was removed from office due to pressure from the gay community that they exerted on Bobi Wine accusing him of supporting the Anti homosexuality law. It is on record that Kyagulanyi came out to strongly support homosexuality accusing MPs of NUP for working with Gen Museveni.

Other sources say that Opposition Whip John Baptist Nambeshe, Muwanga Kivumbi, Ssegona Medard and Beti Namboze are among the MPs who are annoyed over the appointment of Ssenyonyi for LOP whom they see as a Junior and inexperienced leader.

Analyst Charles Rwomushana also said that Zaake Francis was annoyed because of dropping him from the position of Commissioner yet he still has a pending case in Courts of law.

Cracks in NUP have continued to grow as Bobi Wine and his ghetto boys prefer activism over leadership and have decided to sideline all the leaders who came from DP in favor of the ghetto boys.

Sources also say that the powerful decision makers in the party include Benjamin Katana (Treasurer), Lewis Lubongoya (Secretary General), Babie Itungo Kyagulanyi (wife to Bobi Wine) and Nyanzi Sentamu a brother to Bobi Wine and these are siad to be behind the cracks in the Party
