The Deputy Speaker of Parliament the Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa has attended the International Community of Banyakigezi that was held in Rukiga District.
The Convention brings together all Banyakigezi across the world who converge annually to discuss affairs of Banyakigezi as well as supporting the development in Kigezi.
The event was organized by ICOB Uganda Chapter. During the event the Deputy Speaker launcehd the Paul Ngorogoza Girl Education Fund.
“This remarkable initiative has already provided sponsorship for 14 deserving girls from the five districts of Kigezi, enabling them to pursue their education at Kabale University” Tayebwa said.
Tayebwa expressed gratitude to the ICOB leadership for their unwavering commitment to preserving our cherished cultural identity, language, and fostering unity among the Banyakigezi.
