Gospel Musician and Local Councilor Arrested for Suspected Child Sacrifice!

Kitagwenda, Uganda –

A gospel musician who also serves as a local councilor representing People Living with Disabilities in Kitagwenda District Local Government Council has been arrested over allegations of ritual sacrifice.

Amarakutunga Levi was taken into custody on March 17, 2025, after his four-year-old niece was found murdered in what police suspect to be a ritual killing. The gruesome incident occurred in Nyaruhanda Cell, Kabujogera Town Council, Kitagwenda District, Western Uganda.

According to eyewitnesses, police conducted a search of Levi’s house and discovered a bucket of blood and blood-soaked clothes hidden in the ceiling. The child’s body was later retrieved from a stream on his farm, where it had allegedly been dumped.

Enraged by the shocking revelation, furious residents stormed Levi’s property, destroying his banana plantation, slaughtering his cows and goats, and vandalizing his car and other belongings before police intervened to rescue him.

Residents claim they had long suspected Levi of engaging in ritual practices but had lacked concrete evidence until this tragic incident. His sister whose child was murdered previously lost a child in unclear circumstances and the locals pointed at Mr Levi although they could not a certain evidence.

“Why has Police taken him, why didn’t they leave him to us to handle, sush people should also be killed” one of the angry residents was heard saying.

Local leaders and community members condemned the act and demanded that Police handles the matter seriously because acts of witchcraft ha s continued to ravage the area.

Levi is currently held by police custody in Kitagwenda District as investigations into the murderer continue. By press time the contact of the DPC Kitagwenda was unavailable for a comment.
