Government has set out strategies to improve Revenue collection ahead of the next financial year.
The remarks were made by Ministry of State for Finance in charge of General Duties Henry Musasizi this week as he presented the Budget framework paper for 2024/25 financial year.
“We are looking forward to deepening the fiscal consolidation agenda through improved revenue collection, continue to re-purpose the budget to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the public expenditure, controlled borrowing to reduce debt servicing costs while supporting faster socio-economic transformation and implementation of our public financing investment strategy by exploring alternative and more sustainable sources of financing including PPEs, capital markets,” said Musasizi as he presented the Budget framework paper.
Governmenttabled the National Budget Framework Paper with a proposal to spend Shs52.722Trn in 2024/2025.
This will be discussed in the Budget Committee and sectoral Committees of Parliament. The whole Budget process will end in May 2024 when the Budget will be ready for reading by the President!
