Katikiro Mayiga Speaks out on Kabaka’s health

The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has spoken out on Kabaka’s health revealing that the Kabaka of Buganda Roland Muwenda Mutebi is still undergoing treatment abroad and he will return to the country upon advice from his medical team.

Katikiro made the remarks on Monday 7th May 2024 while addressing Lukiiko (Buganda Kingdom Parliament) at Bulange Mengo.

Katikiro said that the King can only return after the medics advise but not pressure from social media.

Several bloggers on social media have been attacking the Katikiro over Kabaka’s health which the Katikiro has always condemned saying that the Kabaka is being handled well.

The Kabaka of Buganda flew to Germany in March 2024 and has been undergoing treatment. He also missed attending the Kabaka birthday run and his own birthday celebration which hasn’t been the norm.

However according to sources, the medical team is doing a good job and the Kabaka is expected to return to the country as soon as he is well
