The Parliament’s Budget Committee has recommended for the provision of Sh44.08b to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, for the establishment of a Bioscience Park.
The Park is where all Scientists will converge at this one stop Centre for the equipment, in order to mitigate the spreading of scarce resources to many parts of the Country such as Universities.
The Committee also wants Government to embark on the process of exiting 111 international organisations, in fulfillment of recommendation from a study earlier conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Uganda subscribes to 308 international organisations & a study found that only 197 organisations are relevant.
Parliament’s proposal comes at the time many agencies in Gov’t have accumulated arrears in subscription fees to international organisations.
