The MK Movement, a political group led by the first son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has changed its name to Patriotic League of Uganda and registered it as a civil society organization.

According to the documents obtained by our reporter and signed by Hon Michael Mawanda a member of the Central Committee of the MK Movement said that the organization will mobilize Ugandans to fulfill their civic duties for the benefit of a society as a whole. The organization also seeks to jealously guard the unique natural and social harmony that makes Uganda.

According to the document, the MK Movement has for the past 17 months mobilized Ugandans to achieve national unity, peace and security, the registration of Patriotic League of Uganda is aimed at championing this agenda by mobilizing and empowering patriotic Ugandans.

“national Unity, peace & stability can be achieved by a patriotic citizenry that are mobilized, organized and empowered to fulfill their role in building sustainable foundation for the independence, sovereignty and social economic development of their fatherland” the document reads in part.

After registration, the Patriotic League of Uganda was launched in Kampala and the event was attended by key figures who included Mike Mukula the Vice Chair NRM Eastern Uganda, Minister of Agriculture Frank Tumwebaze, Minister of State for Information Godfrey Kabyanga, Minister of State for Health Margret Muhanga, Frank Gashumba the Vice Chair MK Movement among other several Members of Parliament across the country!
