Kanungu, Tuesday,

March 18, 2025 – Kinkizi West Member of Parliament, Hon. James Ruggi Kaberuka, has commended Kanungu district leaders for their commitment to strengthening the education system in the district.

Hon. Kaberuka made these remarks while officiating as the Chief Guest at the grand opening of Kyantuhe Primary School classroom block and the commissioning of Rushaka Primary School classrooms in Rushaka, Nyamirama Sub-county.

He applauded the District Education Department, led by Shaban Adams, for setting high academic standards through effective monitoring of head teachers, teachers, and parents to ensure quality education.

More Projects Commissioned

Later, Hon. Kaberuka commissioned two new classrooms and a toilet at Kyajura Primary School in Nyamigoye, Kanyantorogo Sub-county. He urged parents to collaborate with school administrators to enhance the school’s academic performance.

His tour concluded with the official launch of the Nyamigoye-Kijjanga-Kyajura road renovations, a critical infrastructure project aimed at improving accessibility in the area.

Hon. Kaberuka was accompanied by Kanungu District Vice Chairperson, Henry Mwongyera Tibifumura, and Resident District Commissioner, Ambrose Mwesigye Amanyire, among other dignitaries.

Lobbying for Development

The construction of these schools was made possible through funds lobbied by Hon. Kaberuka, as the projects were not initially included in the district’s budget. His strategic position on the Parliamentary Budget Committee has enabled him to secure funding from the Ministry of Finance for multiple development projects in Kinkizi West.

With his continued efforts in lobbying for resources, Hon. Kaberuka remains a key figure in driving infrastructure and education improvements in the constituency.
