Gorreth Namugga (Mawogola South) MP has sought an explanation from the top leadership of Parliament why the vehicles that had been allocated to the Office of Leader of Opposition, meant to transport MPs who had gone to assess state of roads in Kampala City were withdrawn in the middle of the inspection.
Deputy Speaker, Tayebwa however criticised Namugga for bring a matter of administration of Parliament to plenary, wondering why the Leader of Opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi didn’t notify him when the matter arose, saying plenary isn’t the platform to address issues to do with administration of Parliament.
“Administrative issues are handled administratively, the Leader of Opposition and I when he has an administrative issue, he calls me, I haven’t received any single call and I have been in office. I haven’t been notified by anyone of what happened, so when a clerk calls you on such a matter, then you should call the Speaker. I would like to first hear from the the Clerk, did we follow the right procedure of getting Parliament vehicle, I need to know what was the problem and why was the vehicle recalled,” said Tayebwa.
