MPs panic as CID intensifies Sh164b investigations

Several Members of Parliament (MPs) and officials from the ministry of Trade are panicking over the stolen Sh164b Cooperatives funds.

According to the State Minister of Trade Hon Harriet Ntabazi, at least 30 MPs are being investigated for their involvement in the theft of the money.

She gave an interesting hint that among the MPs being investigated include five (5) ‘talkative and noisy’ Opposition MPs.

Nakaseke South MP Hon Paulson Luttamaguzi, a renowned talkative MP, was quick to come out to demanded the Minister to mention the names of the ‘so-called talkative and noisy’ MPs, he distanced himself from the stolen money.

Information reaching Eyewitness24 from the Kibuli-based Criminal Investigation Department (CID) indicate that the 30 MPs implicated are going to be summoned to record their statements.

CID has in the past few weeks been recording statements from various officials at the Ministry of Trade.
