The first son General Muhoozi Kainerugaba who is also the Chairperson Patriotic League of Uganda has arrived in Masaka ahead of the Baraza to sensitize people about his intentions to run for Presidency come 2026.
Muhoozi arrived in a UPDF Chopper at Lord’s Grace Primary School amidst pomp and glamour where dozens of military vehicles picked him from in a convoy as big as for his father President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. This was at exactly 12:30pm.
The General who is also the former Commander of the UPDF Land Forces wore a black greyish suit while being accompanied by his beautiful wife Charlotte Kainerugaba who was clad in a Gomesi.
Upon arrival , Muhoozi was welcomed by PLU Vice Chairperson for Central Region Frank Gashumba together with his Western Region Counterpart Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi , the northern Uganda Vice Chairperson Dr Lillian Aber, the head of Mobilization for Masaka Region Haruna Kasolo and other Top Central Executive Committee Members such as Toyota Nuwagira and Michael Katungi . Others who have welcomed him include the Security Minister Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja, PLU Spokesperson David Kabanda , Nakawa Division Deputy RCC Sheikh Kassim Kamugisha , Aisha Sekindi the head of Women League of PLU among others.
Earlier before his arrival , the PLU officials led by Gashumba and Barugahara were indoctrinating school learners at the playground in Nabyewanga as they sang and danced songs that promote support for their civic pressure group.
Muhoozi then proceeded to Masaka where he interacted and waved to hundreds of his excited supporters who have been eagerly waiting for him. More than 200 Boda Bodas cleared the war for him in solidarity.
The Special Presidential Advisor on Operations is later on expected to address a mega rally at Masaka Liberation Square where thousands of people have already gathered.
