Museveni Inaugurates Speaker Among’s Bukedea Sports Complex

Bukedea, – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni today inaugurated the Bukedea Comprehensive Academy Sports Park, a state-of-the-art sports complex set to host a range of athletic events. The facility, owned by Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Among, is poised to be a central hub for sports in Eastern Uganda.

The inauguration coincided with the launch of the 21st edition of the Federation for East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (FEASSSA) games, which will be held at the newly completed complex in Bukedea District.

In his remarks, President Museveni lauded Speaker Among for her visionary leadership and commitment to developing infrastructure that benefits the youth and the nation. “I commend Rt. Hon. Anita Among and her team for constructing this stadium efficiently and affordably. This should inspire others across the country to initiate similar projects,” he stated.

The President also used the platform to urge the youth to actively participate in the production of goods and services, emphasizing that economic engagement is key to improving their livelihoods. “A prosperous life is unattainable without contributing to the production of goods and services,” Museveni emphasized.

Beyond the sports arena, Museveni praised Speaker Among for fostering a harmonious working relationship between the Executive and Parliament, which he described as crucial for the country’s stability and development.

The event concluded with a rally at Kongunga Primary School in Kachumbala County, where Museveni addressed the local community.

The ceremony was graced by several high-profile figures, including Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, NRM Vice Chairman Al Hajj Moses Kigongo, and prominent businessmen such as Sudhir Ruparelia, Ham Kiggundu, and Gordon Wavamunno.
