Parliament of Uganda has approved a supplementary budget of 3.5 trillion shillings. The budget was passed by Parliament which was chaired by the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Annet Anita Among. The budget includes 1.227 trillion from World Bank for smart agriculture and 554 billion from China to finance e-government infras
Of the said Supplimentary budget State House has been given 485bn shillings while Internal Security Organisation under President’s Office given 39bn also as classified expenditure.
A whooping 306bn was allocated for Buying New National Security Information System while 79 billon was allocated for prisoners’ feeding shortfall 79bn.
Also 13 billon was allocated to support Artists SACCO and 12 billion given to Ministry of Public Service to pay Money Lender’s Association.
Maintenance of Ministry of Defence Air cargo was allocated 100bn while the census preparation was allocated a total of 144bn. Electricity Access project was allocated 128bn and Munyonyo Convention Centre was allocared 37bn ahead of the G77 summit which will be hosted in January at the said hotel.
Uganda Telecom operations was allocated 31bn, 2.7 billon was allocated for supervision of Lubowa Hospital and additional capital to of 25 billion was provided to the Uganda Development Bank.
Uganda Broadcasting Corporation which is the national broadcaster was allocated 25bn, goat breeding program allocated 12bn and renovation of national mosque was allocated 5bn.
