A wave of excitement swept through the NRM Women Mobilization Cooks in Kumi District on Monday as they received T-shirts adorned with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s image, courtesy of Commissioner for National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps-NSPC Ms Hellen Seku who is also the Chairperson for Presidential Zonal Tours.

The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, with the President’s visit slated for today first with the Teso Region leaders and then later on on Wednesday November 20th 2024 in Kaberamaido District where he (President) will interact with the general public regarding the progress of government programs on Wealth Creation such as Parish Development Model and Emyooga.

As the Chairperson of Zonal Tours for the President and also the Private Secretary in Charge of Youth Affairs to His Excellency the President , Ms Seku’s thoughtful gesture was the icing on the cake.
With beaming smiles, the cooks donned their new yellow T-shirts, feeling like ambassadors of the National Resistance Movement. Commissioner Seku’s encouraging words only added to their enthusiasm, as she urged them to always stand firmly behind President Museveni. Her appreciation for their hard work and dedication was palpable, and the cooks felt valued and recognized.

As they went about their preparations for the President’s visit, the cooks couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and belonging. They went back to the kitchen when they were no longer just cooks; but representatives of the NRM’s values and ideals. The T-shirts handed to them by the Chairperson of Buganda ku Museveni Isma Wagaba have become a symbol of their unity and commitment to the cause
With President Museveni’s image emblazoned on their chests, the cooks led by Hajjat Madinah Nakityo felt invigorated, ready to tackle the challenges ahead. They said they felt indeed that their leader President Museveni was a champion of progress, having met with the top government leaders like Ms Seku to discuss the party’s engagements in Teso.

The cooks further looked forward to the President’s visit, eager to showcase their support and enthusiasm. With Commissioner Seku’s guidance and President Museveni’s vision, they felt confident that a brighter future lay ahead not just for themselves, but for the entire nation.

Prior to meeting the Cooks , Ms Seku camped in Kumi for the whole day busy engaged in preparatory meetings and a series of other activities expected of the Chairperson of the Zonal Tours.
She led a team of her staff to one of the local radios where they rallied and mobilized all the people of Teso to use the President’s visit to air out the challenges they are facing with the implementation of the government programs.

The mood was jovial as students from Kumi Technical School also swept the roads as patriots leading to the meeting venue with leaders. Some of the students said they will be happy to see the President as they have never gotten an opportunity to see him physically.
