The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa has asked the Ministry of Education and Sports to come to Parliament next week with a statement detailing steps being taken to deal with schools that have issued circulars proposing exorbitant school fees, following several complaints from the public. Tayebwa made the remarks in his communication to the house on Wednesday during Parliamentary plenary.
“There are very many complaints regarding fees circulars from various schools including Government and private schools that have been discussed from this House, I have seen several circulars including from Government schools with regard to that matter, including giving very clear directives, but the situation seems to be getting worse and some of the school fees being charged are totally prohibitive,” said Thomas Tayebwa
There have been several complaints from Ugandans in regards to fees increment in schools especially government schools and the Minister is expected to give a conclusive response on the matter
