The Uganda People’s Defence Forces has announced the death of the Deputy Commander of the UPDF Air Force Brig Gen Stephen Kigundu which occurred on Easter Sunday in his bathroom in Entebbe.
According to a statement released by the UPDF signed by the UPDF Spokesperson Felex Kulaigye, Brig Gen Kigundu was well the whole day only to collapse in his bathroom on Eater Sunday as he was showering.
“Brig Gen Stephen Kiggundu was well all day until the evening of today when he met his death in his bathroom,” Felex Kulaigye said.
“The UPDF fraternity and the UPDF airforce will miss Brig Kigundu at the time when his services were most needed to continue strengthening our air force capabilities” the statement reads.
Brig Gen Kiggundu previously served as the commander of the Soroti Air Force wing, was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and appointed deputy chief of the UPDF Airforce in November 2022.
