The Chief of Defense Forces (CDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has held a meeting with Uganda’s permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) and Ambassador Adonia Ayebare.
Gen Kainerugaba who is also the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations met Ambassador Ayebare who called on him for a private meeting at the CDF’s office in Mbuya in Kampala.
Whereas the details of the meeting have not been disclosed, sources say that the matters discussed the role of UPDF and diplomacy.
Amb Adonia posted on his X account indicating the significance of diplomacy in security.
“It was a pleasure meeting my friend Muhoozi Kainerugaba the CDC. I congratulated him on being appointed to the most important office at the time our armed forces are going through transformation. Diplomacy being the first line of defence I look forward to a close working relationship” posted Adonia.
It should be noted that Uganda plays a significant role in the regional security and therefore UPDF is a key partner in the global security.
