Top PLU bosses eat big in the Cabinet reshuffle!

In a recent cabinet reshuffle, key figures within the Patriotic League of Uganda have secured prominent roles in President Museveni’s administration. Dr. Baram Barugahara, Vice Chair for Western Uganda, and Lilian Aber, Vice Chair for Northern Uganda, are among those newly appointed as Ministers.

Dr. Balaam Barugahara, the Vice Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda for Western Uganda, has been appointed as the Minister in charge of Youths and Children Affairs within the Ministry of Gender, Labor, and Social Development.

General Wilson Mbadi, the Chief of Defense Forces, joins the cabinet as a Minister of State in charge of Trade, succeeding Harriet Ntabazi while Dr Kenneth Omona who has been Presidential Private Secretary has been appointed Minister for Nothern Uganda replacing Kwiyuchiny Grace.

Esther Anyakun, former Minister in charge of Refugees, assumes the role of Minister in charge of Labor and Industrial Relations, succeeding Col Angola. She is replaced by Kitgum Woman MP, Lilian Aber, who now serves as the Minister for Refugees, Relief, and Disaster Preparedness.

Peter Lokeris, previously the Minister of State in charge of Minerals, now serves as the Minister in charge of Karamoja Affairs, succeeding Dr. Maria Gorret Kitutu. Phiona Nyamutoro, the Youth MP, takes over as the Minister of State for Minerals.

Jacob Oboth Oboth, formerly the Minister of State for Defense in charge of Veteran Affairs, has been promoted to a Cabinet Minister in charge of Defense, succeeding Hon Bamurangaki Sempijja, who transitions to a presidential advisor. Sarah Mateke, formerly with the Ministry of Gender, replaces Oboth Oboth as the Minister of State for Defense in charge of Veteran Affairs.

Harriet Ntabazi (Trade), Grace Kwiyuchiny (Northern Uganda), and Sempijja (Defense) have been reassigned as Presidential Advisors, along with Agnes Nandutu and Dr. Kitutu, who face charges of stealing iron sheets.

Additionally, Lydia Wanyoto, the NRM chairman for the women’s league, has been appointed as a senior presidential advisors.
